I don't think I've ever been effective at describing myself. I used to cling to titles like writer, counselor, author etc-- But as soon as I got comfortable with any of those identities, I outgrew them. It's not that I abandoned the art associated with them-just that how I wanted to embody them changed. And then, you know, I began to realize that the labels really never did anything for me. They were and are for other people- but for my own self definition-- I am a whatever I want to be, wherever I am... I do however have a commitment to creating things that nourish and grow communities, that invite us to imagine life beyond the thunder dome of social justice incorporated or trauma induced control masquerading as revolution. Whether it's the spoken word of Purple Galaxy, the pages of "Dear Universe", "Brunch With The Boys" or my newest project "Ask An Astrologer" It's all about healing, laughter and seeing what is possible when you stop growing the seeds giving to you for your garden, and instead go out in the wilderness, in search for something more.
